Yasir hails from one of the most influential families to have played an instrumental role in the drama industry. Yasir’s father, Fareed Nawaz Balouch, has remained a veteran actor to play senior supporting roles in mainstream drama performances. Yasir’s father-in-law, Kazim Pasha, was also a TV director of drama serials as well as televised programs, along with his mother-in-law Fehmeeda Nasreen, a former producer/director in PTV.
Yasir Nawaz married Nida Yasir, who herself has acted in various drama serials and currently hosts a morning show at one of the main television platforms of Pakistan. He started off in showbiz initially at a few fashion show appearances as a model, then moved onwards to drama serials on television. His acting performances in dramas like Dhoop Mein Sawan, Meri Adhoori Muhabbat, Dil Ki Dehleez par, Baal Baal Bach Gaye, Upar Gori ka Makaan, Uraan, Tanveer Fatima, Zeenat Bint e Sakina Hazir Ho, Harjaee, Hum Tum, Jannat and Maa aur Mamta won him accolades as well as a reputation to become a seasoned actor for versatile roles in leading as well as supporting streams. His brother Danish Nawaz has also followed suit in acting roles for a few drama serials.
Adding in his budding potential and creativity to the fields of drama, he was also producer for Hum Tum, while directing Nadaniyaan in 2008 and Tanveer Fatima (B.A) in 2009.
In July 2015, Yasir Nawaz made his directional debut in Pakistani Firm industry with the release of his first film “Wrong Number” starring Javed Sheikh, Soha Ali Abro, Danish Taimoor, Nadeem Jafri, Danish Nawaz and Shafqat Cheema. Danish was also the writer and co-producer for the film, highlighting his involvement and dedication for his first film project. The film became an Eid-release hit, competing with big films to generate a total revenue of 15 crore worldwide from releases in UAE, UK, USA and Pakistan.
